Kitchener Landmark Gets An Update

Jill Greaves Design wins American Society of Interior Designers Award! First Place for Out of the Box Design! Thank you to ASID NYU/CE!
An upscale do-over for the historic Walper Hotel, an iconic landmark in the heart of downtown Kitchener and the city’s bustling IT hub, with Heather Dubbeldam Architects and Perimter Developments!

This Grand Old Dame was established in 1893, and she has never looked better or more rejuvenated.  With high ceilings, large windows, custom flooring; lighting; furnishings and mill work, guests of this boutique hotel will enjoy a sophisticated and rewarding stay, with an air of distinction.

Cape Breton Coastal

For this spectacular seaside home, Jill Greaves Design worked with Omar Gandhi Architect,  2014 recipient of the Professional Prix de Rome prize in Architecture.

A favourite, long-time collaborator of JGD, Omar Gandhi and his team designed this new residence to maximize the incredible views from atop the rolling hills of Inverness, Nova Scotia.  For starters, the site affords a panorama view of Cape Breton’s coast line, and looks inland, at the town’s waterfront and the Cabot Links golf course – a rolling green gem that is ranked among the top 100 courses in the world by Golf Magazine and Golf Digest.

With its all-cedar exterior and gabled roof, the house stays very much in line with the vernacular style of the area.  However, the feel of the new structure is also undeniably modern, thanks in part to the open concept floor plan, sleek interior surfaces and really confident use of glass.

A traditional inn from the days of the founding of Yale University, the property has been built upon several times over. A significant renovation to modernize the property followed by our added touches make the hotel a gathering place for alumni and professors alike.
